Performance Workshop

The UM Piano Performance Workshop is an intensive program of study and performance for gifted young pianists. Students will be able to study Classical repertoire and/or Jazz and Pop Improvisation. Skills such as improvising cadenzas in classical scores, improvising with a vocal lead sheet, and reading a jazz chart will be explored and developed.

Courses will include:

  • Individual Piano Lessons
  • Master Classes
  • Sight-Reading and Keyboard Skills
  • Functional Piano Technique, Practice Tips and Strategies
  • Music Theory and Performance Analysis
  • Improvisation, Classical and Jazz
  • Jazz/Pop Group Piano
